We booked last minute as we were stuck near Cambridge due to train issues and the owner was very accommodating with fitting us in and working around us time-wise, with our host Buzz being also very friendly and welcoming. Weโre experienced escapers preferring non-linear rooms, and found that Tarot was well themed and fit the bill - the puzzles made sense and the room flowed nicely with both things weโd seen before and ideas that were quirky. A few bits of set felt a little flimsy around the edges, but it didnโt detract from the puzzles themselves. There was one logic puzzle we got genuinely stuck on, but people who are more logic minded might be fine. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, recommended.
We booked a few weeks before we attended and it was cancelled by the hosts (through no fault or issue, just staffing) but the theme sounded really interesting so we re-booked. Unfortunately didnโt make use of the theme very well.. more generic magic/witch themed than Tarot. One of the puzzles which couldโve been really good didnโt work, one puzzle was very confusing and we could hear the hosts discussing how much of a problem it causes and how they need to change it. The final โpuzzleโ is very confusing.. the concept is good but the execution could do with some work.
Nice theming, some solid puzzles and a unique twist at the end which was a nice change! Lovely GM hosting us and plenty to keep our team of 4 busy. Only downside is a couple of items that were a bit on the red herring side that two of us wasted time on, and one puzzle that is a good idea but was made overly complicated by a seemingly important component that ended up not being needed.
Plenty in this room to keep us all busy and a nice variety of different puzzle types. Got hung up on one of the puzzles due to us interpreting the material we had as pointing to a far more complicated puzzle than it actually was!
